The birds arise early

Sing the day has begun

Flags hoisted a'high

Flush with morn's warm sun

 

The neigborhood stirs

To a crisp clear blue sky

The excitement starts mounting

It’s the Fourth of July!

 

A festive day onward

Dusk’s countdown's begun

Fireworks at the ready

Friends and kin wait as one

 

Then whistles and crackles

And willows and flares

Fountains and cascades

And mouth gaping stares

 

There’s smiles all round

Illuminations on high

It doesn’t get better

Than the Fourth of July
